Course Outline:

This class will explain major investment products, provide an overview of qualified plans, discuss asset allocation theory with portfolio management (the foundation for determining investment choices), and illustrate a risk tolerance assessment. The major products discussed will be:

1. individual stocks and bonds,
2. mutual funds, closed-end funds, exchange traded funds, and
3. annuities and variable life insurance.

We will also look at the basic design of qualified plans, such as 401(k)s, 403(b)s, simple IRAs, SEP-IRAs, Roth IRAs, Traditional IRAs, and pensions, so that you will better understand how to invest in them. 10 hours
